The Process

For this project, my team was connected with the Stratford Perth Community Foundation to implement a new social media marketing strategy. I was chosen as the team's Project Manager, and was therefore the main point of contact with our client. I was also responsible for setting meetings, creating meeting agendas, and ensuring all tasks for the team were clearly articulated. When the project began, we were highly focused on conducting market research. We identified our key target audience and strategized how to best reach this audience through various social media platforms.

From here, we began to develop the marketing program. On several occasions, our team disagreed on the best strategy. As Project Manager, it was important for me to adapt to the emotional needs of the team in order to facilitate constructive discussions. I ensured that the designers and content strategists were working cooperatively by proposing common-ground solutions that would deliver the best possible product to our client. Maintaining a cohesive team was central to the success of the project.

As part of the marketing plan, we recommended the various types of content that could be created and shared across the social media vehicles established. We created several examples including a series of inspirational images that reflected the brand's philanthropic mission and vision. We also proposed some website redesigns in the form of wireframes.

As an additional component of the project, each team member was required to design a digital canvas for the client. I chose to visualize a text-heavy component of the website to make it more dynamic and aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, I ensured that the content was easily shareable across various social media platforms. Overall, our client was thrilled with the final recommendations, and has begun implementing several social media marketing strategies.
